For as long as I can remember, I’ve been chasing after butterflies–in one way or another. Today, quite literally, spending over half an hour following a Monarch through the butterfly garden at Harriet Wetherill Park. Unlike when I was four, today I was sans a net and plus one camera. The picture to the left was as good as it was going to get this time. I did get quite up close and personal with some bees who were too busy digging in their flower to notice me with my camera.
And my figurative butterflies? Well, there are no pictures for that… but as I was running around the park today I couldn’t help but hear the line in my head that came from the first episode of Sex and the City I ever saw… and totally connected with:
Some people are settling down, some people are settling and some people refuse to settle for anything less than butterflies.
Mahalo.
